Computer Credit Card Processing

Computer credit card processing utilizes a computer and a computer program for accepting credit cards. The computer acts as a credit card machine and each transaction is processed through the computer’s Ethernet or phone modem securely and just like a standalone credit card machine. This can potentially save merchants money and space. A magnetic swiper must be used for retail transactions with credit card present and can be plugged into the computer’s USB port. The credit card processing program can also use the computer as a database that stores all transaction as well as prices of merchandise that the merchant offers. This type of system is essentially called a Point of Sale System or POS system.
